Planning Your Event
What types of events can be hosted at Eagle Oak Ranch? Eagle Oak Ranch provides a versatile backdrop for all of life’s meaningful gatherings! We welcome corporate retreats, team-building workshops, nonprofit galas, fundraising events, milestone celebrations, family reunions, holiday parties, anniversary celebrations, graduation festivities, retirement parties, and, of course, beautiful weddings and commitment ceremonies. Our diverse spaces include the Oak Villa, Greenhouse, Oak Lawn, Oak Barn, and Tennis Court—each offering its own unique charm for your special occasion.
How far in advance should I book my event? We recommend booking 9-12 months ahead for weekend dates during our popular seasons, though we often have more flexibility for weekday events or celebrations during our quieter months. Corporate events and weekday gatherings can sometimes be accommodated with shorter notice. Reach out anytime to check our availability—we’re happy to work with your timeline!
What is the capacity of your venue? Eagle Oak Ranch currently accommodates up to 250 guests comfortably for your celebration. We’re excited to share that we’ll soon have permits to host even larger gatherings! Please inquire directly for details about our upcoming capacity expansion and availability for larger events. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand affair, our spacious grounds provide the perfect setting.

Vendors & Services
Do I have to use the preferred vendor list? We’re happy to work with the professionals you love! Your vendors will simply need to meet our basic requirements for documentation and insurance. Our team is always available to help guide you through this process and can recommend fantastic local vendors if you’re looking for suggestions.
Can I bring my own alcohol & caterer? Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring your preferred caterer and alcohol for your celebration. Your caterer’s bartender or bar service company will need to have RBS certification, and catering staff will need California Food Handler cards. These requirements simply ensure everyone enjoys a safe and wonderful experience.
Do I need to hire an event coordinator? Yes, we ask that you work with a professional event planner to ensure your special occasion unfolds exactly as you’ve envisioned. Your coordinator will be your advocate and partner throughout the planning process and will handle all the little details so you can fully enjoy your event. For corporate gatherings, your company’s event planner can serve in this capacity.
The Event Experience
Is there a time restriction for events? Your event can go as long as you’d like! We simply ask that you comply with San Luis Obispo County noise and lighting ordinances after certain hours. Silent disco, anyone? Many of our clients have created magical late-night experiences with creative alternatives to traditional amplified music. For corporate events, this flexibility allows for productive daytime sessions followed by enjoyable evening activities. We’d be happy to share some of our favorite ideas!
What’s your Plan B for inclement weather? We’re excited to share that our beautiful Greenhouse will soon serve as an elegant Plan B option for outdoor events! While we complete this addition, we recommend arranging for a tent or structure for the Oak Lawn & Oak Vista. Our experienced team can connect you with excellent rental partners who know our property well and can accommodate everything from corporate presentations to festive celebrations.
Safety & Services to Consider
Do we need to hire security personnel? Yes, you’ll need to arrange for security staff for your event to ensure everyone has a carefree, wonderful time. While Eagle Oak Ranch doesn’t provide security personnel directly, we’re happy to recommend excellent security companies who are familiar with our property and can help your event run smoothly.
What about water features on the property? Our ranch includes a swimming pool and pond that add to the natural beauty of the property. To keep everyone safe while enjoying these lovely features, we ask that you include a lifeguard as part of your event team. They’ll maintain a watchful eye throughout your gathering so you can focus on making memories with your guests, colleagues, or loved ones.
What should I know about the beautiful natural surroundings? One of the things guests love most about Eagle Oak Ranch is our stunning natural setting! We’re a working ranch with orchards and gentle animals that add to the authentic country charm. We’ll help guide you and your guests to the best spots to enjoy these features safely. Corporate groups often find our natural setting particularly conducive to productive discussions, creative thinking, and meaningful team building.
Logistics Made Easy
Is there enough parking for my guests & vendors? Plenty! You’ll need to arrange for valet service for all events, so your guests will be greeted warmly upon arrival with convenient, stress-free parking. The service begins an hour before your event starts (or by 3pm) and continues until an hour after your celebration concludes.
Do you recommend shuttle services? We do suggest shuttle services as a thoughtful touch for your guests! The country roads leading to our ranch are part of our secluded charm but can be unfamiliar to visitors. Shuttles allow everyone to relax and enjoy the scenic journey without worrying about navigation or driving after celebrating. For corporate events, shared transportation can also foster valuable pre-event networking.
What about accessibility? We’ve designed Eagle Oak Ranch with accessibility in mind. You’ll find paved and flat areas throughout the property, and the Oak Villa features an elevator for guests staying overnight. We’re happy to discuss any specific accommodations to ensure all your guests have a comfortable, enjoyable experience.
Are kids welcome at events? Absolutely! For events including children under 12, we ask that you arrange for one adult supervisor for every five children to ensure they have a fun, safe time while adults enjoy the gathering. We can suggest entertainment options that children of all ages will love! For family-friendly corporate events, we can recommend excellent local childcare providers who can create engaging activities for younger guests.
