Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about hosting your celebration at Eagle Oak Ranch. If you don’t find your answer here, we’re just a call or email away.
Planning Your Event
What types of events can be hosted at Eagle Oak Ranch? Weddings, corporate retreats, milestone celebrations, family reunions, nonprofit galas, and more. Our spaces—including the Oak Villa, Grand Oak Pavilion, Oak Lawn, Oak Terrace, and Oak Court—each offer their own unique setting.
How far in advance should I book my event? We recommend 9–12 months for weekend dates during peak season. Weekday events and off-season dates often have more flexibility. Reach out anytime to check availability.
What is the capacity of your venue? We accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. Contact us to discuss your guest count and we’ll recommend the best spaces for your event.

Vendors & Services
Do I have to use your preferred vendors? No—you’re welcome to bring your own. We simply ask that all vendors meet our documentation and insurance requirements. We’re happy to share recommendations if needed.
Can I bring my own alcohol & caterer? Yes. Your caterer’s bartenders must have RBS certification, and catering staff need California Food Handler cards.
Do I need to hire an event coordinator? Yes. We require a professional event planner to ensure your day runs smoothly. For corporate events, your company’s internal planner can serve in this role.
What if my vendor doesn’t have the required insurance? No problem—this happens. We’ve partnered with The Event Helper to offer simple, affordable coverage for the event. Your vendor can get a quote and purchase a policy in just a few minutes using our prepopulated link—and we’ll automatically receive the certificate of insurance. Easy for everyone. Learn more here.
The Event Experience
Is there a time restriction for events? Our standard event packages include a set number of hours. Extended time is available for an additional fee to cover staffing. All events must comply with San Luis Obispo County noise and lighting ordinances—silent disco is always a great option for late-night celebrations.
What’s your Plan B for inclement weather? The Grand Oak Pavilion (coming soon) will serve as an elegant indoor option. In the meantime, we can accommodate tents on the Oak Lawn, Oak Court, and Oak Vista.

Safety & Services to Consider
Do we need to hire security personnel? Yes. We require security personnel for all events. We’re happy to recommend companies familiar with our property.
What about water features on the property? For weddings and special events, the pool is closed to guests. If your celebration will bring guests near the pool area, we require a lifeguard to be on site.
What should I know about the beautiful natural surroundings? Eagle Oak Ranch is a working property with orchards and animals. We’ll guide you and your guests to the best spots to enjoy these features safely.
Logistics Made Easy
Is there enough parking for my guests & vendors? Yes, plenty. However, valet service is required for all events. Valet begins one hour before your event (or by 3pm) and continues until one hour after.
Do you recommend shuttle services? We do. The country roads add to our charm, but shuttles allow guests to relax and enjoy the scenic drive without navigating unfamiliar terrain.
What about accessibility? Yes. Paved, flat areas are available throughout, and the Oak Villa features an elevator for overnight guests. Let us know if you have specific needs.
Are kids welcome at events? Absolutely. For events with young children, we ask that appropriate adult supervision is arranged.
Is day-of event insurance required? Yes. We’ve partnered with Nuptial for simple, affordable coverage. Learn more here.
