Chevalier was the 2008 AHHA champion stallion with a score of 52. He is an elegant type with correct conformation and three excellent gaits. Chevalier began his successful show career in Germany, which continued throughout his career in the United States. As a testament to his excellent rideability, temperament, and athleticism, he has excelled with both professional and amatuer riders in dressage, hunters, and jumpers. Notably, Chevalier was ridden, trained, and shown successfully by Olympic and Pan Am Games medalist, Steffen Peters, in third and fourth level dressage.  His canter received a 10 in third level dressage from O Judge Linda Zang with the comments “balanced and free”.  Comments from other judges include “beautiful, elegant type,” “supple and obedient.” Chevalier went on to compete in Prix St. George classes with an amateur rider.

Chevalier’s pedigree combines two extraordinary dressage and jumping bloodlines. His sire, Con Air, a successful international Grand Prix jumper, competed at the 2010 Kentucky World Equestrian Games, among many other notable Grand Prix competitions. Con Air is also a top breeding stallion of Contender’s line. On Chevalier’s dam side is the sire Quinar. Quinar has produced many premium mares and approved stallions in Germany. On Chevalier’s dam side is Lacapo/Carneval. This line has produced many top dressage horses such as the stallion, Lingh, who placed 2nd at the 2005 World Cup under rider Edward Gall as well as Krack C, Anky von Grunsven’s stallion, who has won many International Grand Prix’s.

Chevalier’s offspring continually excel in Hunters, jumpers, and dressage. They have superb rideability and continually demonstrate excellent athleticism and temperament. Every Chevalier offspring has been awarded Premium status at Holsteiner approvals.
